Due to the Night of Museums, the library services of the ELTE University Library and Archives will be inaccessible on Saturday, on the 21st of June 2025. Everyone is welcome to join our programmes starting at 15.00.
On the occasion of the Night of Museums, on the 22th of June 2024 from 6.00 pm at the ELTE University Library and Archives in the Lobby (1053 Budapest, Ferenciek tere 6.), a string quartet consisting of members of the ELTE „Eötvös” Art Ensemble will give a concert with Edit Kollár (violin), Judit Gombás (violin), Mónika Mezei (viola) and Zsuzsanna Kéri (cello). All visitors are welcome!
Within the framework of the Night of Museums program series, calligrapher Dezső Buzogány will hold a workshop on the 22nd of June 2024 between 15:00 and 24:00 in the hall of the ELTE University Library and Archives (1053 Budapest, Ferenciek tere 6.). Our guests are able to gain an insight into the art of calligraphy.
In the framework of our book adoption programme, our conservator and reference librarian gave our adopters a detailed presentation of the supported volumes.
The Foundation for the University Library held this year's meeting of the Board of Trustees, where Dr. Péter Kiszl, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Kulcsár Szabó Ernőné Gombos Annamária, Director General of the ELTE University Library and Archives (ELTE ULA), Márta Csikós, Head of Cabinet of ELTE ULA, Dr. Edit Madas, academician, professor, and Judit Osskó, certified architect, monument protection engineer, television editor-director, participated in the meeting.
The ELTE University Library and Archives offers extended opening hours for readers and students on weekdays and Saturdays between the 6th of May 2024 and the 15th of June 2024 until 22.00 hours. Our new community space offers the opportunity to learn, relax, use kitchen facilities and free computer access. Everyone is welcome and we wish all our students a successful semester and exam period!
In the framework of the Book of Your Life project, the new community space of the ELTE University Library and Archives was inaugurated for international and domestic students with the opening speech of Rector Dr. László Borhy.
The ELTE University Library and Archives and the Tianyige Library and Museum shared information about their history and collections in an online discussion. Both libraries were founded in 1561 and have a rich history and collection philosophy.

In the framework of the Sustainability Week, we welcome elementary and secondary school groups to visit the ELTE University Library and Archives for green library presentations.
Following the kick-off meeting of our Book of Your Life library project, a series of furniture refurbishment workshops entitled „UNICycle upcycling” was launched for the planned community space of our library.
