With the support of the ELTE University Film Club, the National Cultural Fund (NKA), and the Hungarian Documentary Filmmakers’ Association (MADOKE), a documentary film screening series featuring works by Hungarian filmmakers is being launched. The next screening will feature Balázs Simonyi’s 2017 film Ultra.

During the Easter holidays, between the 3rd and the 6th of April 2026, the ELTE University Library and Archives is closed.

On March 24, 2026, a delegation from the University Library and Archives paid a professional visit to the Hungarian National Archives’ building on Bécsi kapu tér. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering inter-institutional relations and sharing best practices, and expressed their hope for future joint collaborations.

The ELTE Heritage Coordination team, organized by Bianka Kovács-Molnár, paid a professional visit to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences building, where we toured the exhibitions titled “Canon, Memory, Cult” and „The Treasures of the 200-Year-Old Academy” together, guided by curator Zsuzsa Sidó.

The aim of the János Ujvári Diploma Award is to help students approaching the end of their higher education studies to examine the topic of their diploma thesis from an intellectual property protection perspective, with appropriate professional support, and to map out the intellectual property protection aspects and protectability possibilities of the topic they have chosen.

Our series, titled „Mosaics from the Heritage of ELTE”, presents some of the outstanding cultural heritage of Eötvös Loránd University. The artwork of the month is the wrought iron railing at the entrance to ELTE Trefort Ágoston Practice High School.

Dr. Zsuzsanna Mikó, Deputy Director General of the Hungarian National Archives, and Dr. Balázs Czetz, Deputy Director General of Collections, visited the ELTE University Library and Archives on 4 March 2026, with several of their colleagues for a professional exchange and knowledge sharing.

Qulto held its annual professional day on February 25, 2026 at the Szabó Ervin Library in Budapest, where ELTE was represented by Research Support Librarian Tibor Móring with a presentation that aroused great interest. The presentation presented the results and goals of the curriculum repository subproject, with a special emphasis on the archiving, organization and reusability of digital curriculum materials, as well as the upload and visibility options offered to educators. The presentation also addressed the unique features of the repository, tailored to curriculum management, and how it can support collaboration and knowledge sharing among educators.

In the framework of the Sustainability Week and the Green Bridge Volunteer Expert Program, we welcome elementary and secondary school groups to visit the ELTE University Library and Archives for green library presentations.

The ELTE University Library and Archives held four online lectures on the most important principles of managing, sharing and archiving research data in February 2026. The events provided an overview of the research data management lifecycle, the FAIR guidelines and the grants available at ELTE to approximately thirty participants. The materials of the lectures are available in the ELTE Digital Institutional Knowledge Base, and the staff of the Education and Research Support Department will assist with further questions.

The ELTE University Library and Archives is holding an online training on the management of research data and the preparation of a data management plan for NKFIH NKKP applications. Participants can learn about the concept, types, creation methods of research data, and the role of data repositories and other data storage support tools. Registration is possible for the lectures, which are available at multiple times and have the same content, and the connection link will be sent to applicants by e-mail.
