On the 24th of March 2022, the ELTE Alumni Centre organised a successful event entitled "The University Opens its Doors" in the ELTE University Library.

The ELTE University Library and Archives will be closed on the 14th of March 2022 (Monday) and on the 15th of March 2022 (Tuesday) on the occasion of the national holiday. From Wednesday (from the 16th of March 2022) we are waiting for our readers according to the usual opening hours.

There is a unique opportunity for the ELTE Faculty of Economics' students to participate on a training that intend to share good practice of writing and editing thesis.

In cooperation with the ELTE Botanical Garden, a large-scale gardening project took place in the inner courtyard of the University Library.

The Foundation for the University Library purchased workchairs and tables by utilizing the National Cooperation Fund grant for the Restoration and Bookbinding Workshop in the Eötvös Loránd University Library and Archives.

István Ádám, Annie Fischer scholarship student of the Ministry of Human Resources, gives a guitar concert in the University Library and Archives of Eötvös Loránd University at 6.00 p.m. on the 18th of February 2022.

On the occasion of the Hungarian Culture Day (the 22nd of January 2022), the ELTE University Library and Archives invites you to a virtual library tour. This year we remember the poet, writer and journalist János Garay, who was born 210 years ago and worked in the University Library.

The mission of the ELTE University Library and Archives, which won the Hungarian Heritage Award and – as part of the University Library Service – the title of Qualified Library in 2018, as well as the EFQM “Committed to Excellence” certificate in 2020, is to provide Hungarian and foreign academic teachers, researchers and students with domestic and foreign literature, intending to integrate them into the international circulation of scientific life. Now, you can also help to ensure free access to information, to preserve and digitize our cultural values, and to acquire modern technological equipment and implement continuous service development. We have collected the most frequently loaned books in the University Library over the past year.

We would like to inform our visitors that due to the failure of the electronic storage cabinets we are temporarily unable to provide a part of the journal collection (shelfmark: between P841 and P1299). Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The ELTE University Library and Archives' new calendar 2022 presents some outstanding cultural heritage of Eötvös Loránd University, which deserve the attention not only of the university but also of the public.

Medieval diplomas were available in EDIT, and now the full series, i.e. pulbications from 1527 to 1808, can also be viewed.

The work was reseen by the general public at our highly successful Cultural Heritage Days event on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, with the digital version available in the EDIT repository.

With the support of Foundation for the University Library, IT equipment was purchased in the University Library and Archives of the Eötvös Loránd University from grant funding.

The Library will be closed between the 24th of December and 2nd of January 2022. Our library's services will be available from the 3rd of January 2022 from 9:00 to 20:00.

The Reading Hall will be closed on the 8th of December 2021 due to a university event. The other reading rooms of the library will remain open for our readers with the usual opening hours and services.

ELTE University Library and Archives initiated the certification process for ELTE Institutional Repository (ELTE EDIT) at Repository Qualification Commission of Hungarian Scientific Bibliography Database (MTMT). As a result, the Commission accepted the institutional archive as a certified repository.

The ELTE University Library and Archives will be closed on 26th November, 2021 due to a university event. From Monday (19 November, 2021) we waiting for our visitors according to the usual opening hours.
