The University Library Service is a library network of Eötvös Loránd University operating by uniform principles and providing aligned services. The University Library Service was erected by the decision of the Senate of Eötvös Loránd University in 2009.
The 5-year plan of the library development strategy sets also the goal to create a uniform library network which is competitive with the research universities of the EU. The new organization shoud provide new, modern services in an effective and economic manner and should help the professors, researchers and students in a user-friendly way to get access rapidly to any information they require.
The members of the University Library Service network cooperate with each other to provide access to the knowledge assets of the University for the citizens of the university, for the members of the scientific community as well as for the public by offering user-friendly and high quality services and by using efficient and modern information technologies.
The Library Council is the operational body of the University Library Service which give proposals and monitor all the issues that refer to the library network.
