The library’s services are available upon the presentation of a student or ID card. The library basically ensures reading on-site. Borrowing is limited to teachers and PhD students of the Institute and teachers of ELTE.

Interlibrary borrowing: From outside of Hungary: HUF 4,500 per volume, borrowing within Hungary is free of charge. Exclusively the teachers and students of the Institute are entitled to borrow from the library.

The library has two computers. Internet and text editing is available on both computers. In addition to the databases subscribed to by ELTE and the Faculty, local databases assisting in the use of the library are accessible in part from the Internet and in part only on our local computers.

WiFi connection is available in the library and the use of digital cameras is allowed.

Users: students and teachers of ELTE and external readers interested in art history. The library’s services are available upon the presentation of a student or ID card.

  • Books, periodicals, offprints, exposition catalogues, photocopies, audiovisual database, theses and dissertations. 35,500 books and periodicals. Of these 30 Hungarian and foreign current periodicals. Other documents: app. 2,200 (theses, dissertations, photocopies). Electronic documents: app. 130.
