Details of registration
Basic rules of library use and registration:
Employees, teachers and students holding a legal relation with the University and accepting the provisions contained herein as binding upon themselves, may use the basic services of the library. Basic services: use on-site, use of the catalogues, information regarding the collection of the library and other libraries, use of the Internet. Complementary services - for registered readers: registered readers may be library science faculty, university students holding a legal relation with ELTE, university teachers, employees. Registration is valid from the beginning until the end of the given scholar year. Students shall provide the following data at the time of registration: name, date of birth, residential address, telephone number, mother’s name, e-mail address. In the event of change in the reader’s personal data, he/she shall notify the library of the same. All library users are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the documents and articles of the library. Readers shall protect the borrowed documents from all damages and dirt. In the event that the reader causes damage intentionally, a disciplinary procedure may be initiated against him/her.

The library of the Information and Library Sciences Institute is not a public specialized library.
Specialized literature, theses, PhD dissertations, handbooks, electronic documents. The library collects literature related to the majors and corresponding researches, literature of other subjects related to the majors, general literature and electronic documents. The collection comprises 6 thousand documents accessible online, which may be borrowed, 12 Hungarian and 6 foreign periodicals may be read on-site, as well as 700 electronic documents and 166 old books.
The collection may be searched by call number. The handbooks and periodicals are found on the open stacks. The librarian shall provide guidance regarding use of the computer services available in the library. The following documents may not be borrowed and may only be used on-site: handbooks, databases and dictionaries, periodicals, theses, PhD dissertations, electronic documents.
