Details of registration

Students, teachers and researchers of the institute may register. External, that is students and researchers outside of the institute may also register, provided that a teacher/researcher of the institute gives its surety. We prepared a form for this purpose.

Borrowing is only allowed for our teachers/students and scholarship PhD students of the institute.

Teachers may borrow a maximum of 6 books at a time for a loan period of 2 weeks for each volume. They shall place a properly completed shelf marker to replace each book borrowed and shall note down the books borrowed in the loan register.

Periodicals may only be borrowed for the weekend or from night until the next morning.

Photocopying is available at the library with 2 photocopying machines operated by the BravoGroup. Cost: HUF 10/page.

2 computers in the library provide access to the Internet and there is a free access WiFi connection in the central reading area.

Students are not allowed to borrow from the library!

The library operates in an open-stack system.

A maximum of 4 books may be taken off the stacks at the same time. A shelf marker bearing the name of the reader and the reference number of the document used must be placed on the shelf to replace the book in use. In the event that the reader wishes to enter own books, notes into the library, he/she shall have those recorded at the librarian’s desk. Returning the books to their locations is the responsibility of the readers, who may request assistance from the librarian.

A significant part of the library’s collection consists of the publications received from the libraries of the great figures of early archeological research (such as Mr. Antal Hekler, Mr. Ferenc Tompa, Mr. János Banner, Ms. Amália Mozolics, Mr. István Bóna, Mr. Miklós Gábori). The library’s collection currently consists of 39,000 volumes. App. 26,000 books, 13,000 periodicals are found in the collection, as well as the theses and dissertations of the Institute’s students and researchers, which comprise app. 800 documents. In the course of its continuous development, the library has been purchasing legacies and modern specialty books from external resources and maintains exchange relationships with various Hungarian and foreign institutions.
