Cambridge Archive Editions Online Trial of the Library of the Institute of Far East

The Cambridge University Press has offered the Library of East Asian Instutite a free trial for its Cambridge Archive Editions Online - East & South-East Asia collection. The trial has been set to run from March 3 to April 4 2015, and can be accesed through the public computers in the library.

Details of registration

Anyone can use the library in the opening hours for reading on-site, information and use of the information equipment. The legal standing as student must be verified at the time of registration. Library membership must be renewed at the beginning of each scholar year.

Only students of the Far East Institute of ELTE may borrow from the library. Major students may borrow 3 documents at the same time for a maximum of 2 weeks, while minor students may borrow two books at a time for a maximum of two weeks.  Renewal may be requested once for a period of one week. Documents and periodicals found in the reading room may not be borrowed, those may only be used on-site.

Use of the photocopying machine is subject to registration. The user of the photocopying service acknowledges that it is only allowed for research, studying, personal use and at all times in accordance with copyright regulations. Photocopying of theses and dissertations is strictly prohibited.

2 computers are available for readers in the library with access to the Internet and WiFi access is available.

The library’s services: reading on-site, borrowing, use of the information equipment, use of the computer and Internet, photocopying, printing. The computers are primarily intended to assist students in learning and research.

  • Collections: Chinese collection, Japanese collection, Korean collection, Inner Asia collection, South-East Asia collection, periodicals. The full collection comprises app. 38 thousand volumes, app. the one-fifth of which has already been processed and is searchable in the electronic catalogue.
