You can approach the Library by the tram 4-6, stop at Wesselényi street, or by the tram 47-49s, stop at the Deák Ferenc square, or by the trolley 73, or by the underground 2.

Details of registration

 

1.  Membership in the Library of Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Education and Psychology is available for every person who is at least 14 years old and accepts the prevailing rules of library use as binding.

2. Registration happens in person, by filling out and signing the application for membership at the borrowing desk during the opening hours of the Library.

The following documents are required for registration:

- In case of university citizens: ID card (or residence permit, passport) and student identity card validated for the current semester (in the absence of this, a certificate of school attendance)
- In case of any other readers: ID card (or residence permit, passport)
- Readers’ data are kept on record on computer and the Library uses them exclusively for internal library purposes.
3.  The valid visitor’s card entitles the reader to use the Library’s collection on the premises. Conditions of circulation are included in the Rules of Circulation. 

4. Every registered member of the Library of Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Education and Psychology shall renew their membership every academic year, which can be requested at the borrowing desk during the opening hours of the Library. Changes in personal data during the academic year can also be announced at the same place.

 

Membership fees:

- full-time instructors, employees, pensioners and full-time students of ELTE:

Free

- students of other educational institutions and pensioners (under the age of 70):

HUF 1,000

- librarians, archivists, museologists, pedagogues, pensioners (over the age of 70):

Free

- all other readers:

HUF 2,000

 

Professors and researchers can borrow up to 25 books from the Library at the same time, while other employees of the Faculty of Education and Psychology, students of ELTE and external readers can borrow a maximum of 5 books.

The loan period is normally 30 days.

Documents may be borrowed in person and with a valid reader’s pass.

Requests for borrowing documents from the stock room can be placed by using a request form.

Books can be brought up at 9:00, 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 daily. Please give the request forms to the librarian until 8:45, 10:45, 12:45 and 14:45.

The Library has more, than 20 computers with internet connection, which all registrated reader can freely use. 

Readers of the library may ask for information about different topics:

  1. about the library’s catalogue
  2. about the library’s staff
  3. about the place of a book
  4. the service is available personally, on phone and e-mail.

Upon request, publications which are not held by the library may be acquired by inter-library loan from domestic sources, either their origin or a copy of it. The lending library has competence to regulate the use of the documents acquired in this way.

Our Library has received a NEW Multifunctional PHOTOCOPY MACHINE with the following services:

  1. The Library’s member can be everyone who accepts the usage rules.
  2. Sign up to be a member is possible personally, with the signing of registration forma t opening time.
    • To sign up, readers need their ID, or passport and their valid student card.

The due date of documents borrowed for 30 days may be renewed twice, unless they are reserved within the loan period.

Renewing the due date can also be done by phone or online through the online catalogue, under the menu item of “Costumer services”.

Borrowable books, if they are currently borrowed can be reserved. Reserving is available personally, by e-mail, phone or online.

The library provides internet (Wi-Fi) for ELTE students and the members of Eduroam network. Please ask the librarian for details.

  • An independent collection has been established in the Reading room of the Library of Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Education and Psychology operating with the support of Anthropolis Association.


    The Knowledge Centre (Tudásközpont) provides specialized books, handbooks and educational materials (from board games to visual auxiliary materials) for global education as well as professional advice for those interested.

 

Short description of collections:

The Library’s special collection includes theses and PhD dissertations, which can be found in thousands of numbers and they are accessible to anyone on the premises.

Explanation of collections:

The Library has been collecting and exploring about 2800 theses in its online catalogue for years, which can be viewed in the reading room on the premises and they cannot be photocopied. The Library also collects doctoral dissertations defended at the Faculty and explores them in its online catalogue. PhD dissertations can only be studied on the premises and they cannot be photocopied.

Short description of collections:

Our Library currently has more than 13,000 documents in the subject of psychology.

Explanation of collections:

The Library collection holds approximately 13,000 volumes, which are fully catalogued and searchable in the Library’s OPAC system. The collection is placed on open stack and readers can search for books in the reading room by themselves. The Library collects psychological materials that are taught and researched at the faculty as well as professional literature of their related fields both in Hungarian and in foreign languages.
