The library network of the Faculty of Humanities keeps 1.2 million document units thus being exceptional not only nationally but also in international relations: this is an exclusive privilege of only the most established university faculties worldwide. It’s imposing public collections, estates and private libraries of it renowned professors, valuable collections of old and rare documents (unique incunabula, manuscripts, protocols, etc.), its self-published periodicals (scientific journals, almanacs), PhD-theses, special documents (photos, scores are indisputable treasures of the Hungarian Cultural Heritage: many of its collections serve as national specialized libraries. Some libraries of humanities collect special sources written in dead or exotic languages, their rarities are visited from all parts of the world. In the reading rooms, stack-rooms and working-rooms of 7,000 m2 in total, the visitors receive specialized, individualized services according to their field of interest.
